What is an immediate dentures ?
Immediate dentures are Full dentures or Partial dentures inserted immediately on the same day of your natural teeth removals
Immediate dentures are made in prior to natural teeth extractions and can be inserted as soon as the teeth are removed.
As a result, the patient does not have to worry about missing their teeth during the healing period (4-6 weeks).
However, bones and gums may shrink over time as a part of healing process following teeth removals.
In order to compensate for the rapid changes that occur during healing, Reline (realigning) Services will be used to adapt the fitting surface of the dentures to make the new fit.
What are the advantages of an immediate denture?
There are various advantages of immediate dentures. Who likes making public appearance without teeth? Don’t you wish to duplicate the colour, shape as well as arrangement of original teeth. What are the disadvantages?
Increased cost is the biggest drawback. Also, you can’t see the look and appearance of the denture before extraction of the tooth. Also, the fitting of immediate dentures cost isn’t very accurate in comparison with conventional ones. Usually, conventional ones are used after healing of tissues is over.
Why does an immediate denture cost more?
The cost of immediate denture is more as compared to conventional denture because the time used is more. Often, a surgical stent is necessary. Also, more follow up visits are needed. We, Denture Square team would use a reline soft material to fit the denture again, in case it becomes loose. After healing, it is replaced by new denture or permanent denture. You would have to pay for that new denture or reline (new fit).
All advantages and disadvantages will be discussed by the doctor. This will ease your decision making process. New dentures are indeed beneficial; however, if it breaks, you can use immediate denture as a spare one. If the immediate denture is relined, it will usually need to be left overnight while it is permanently relined in the laboratory.

Is an immediate denture for everyone?
Everyone isn’t eligible for an immediate denture. If you have specific oral problems or health conditions, you would be advised against it.
Immediate dentures are pre-made products that may not match the mouth once your original teeth are removed. Just like this, an unfit product may result in pain, irritation, infection, and other dental conditions. Therefore, dentists recommend people go for permanent Denture as soon as they make up their minds.
Immediate Denture is designed to be temporary and can be brought in use for 6 to 8 months until the arrival of the permanent Denture. Since they are not custom-made according to your mouth, they can slip and move on, so people cannot wear them for an extended period.
Immediate dentures are recommended when a patient loses all of their remaining teeth in one or both jaws and wants a prosthetic replacement of their original teeth immediately after the removal. Most patients with no hope for permanent Dentures are good candidates for immediate Dentures.
